Needlepoint
Published in Paperback by Tudor Communications (November, 1989)
Average review score:

GOOD GRIEF!!!!! But not to Charlie BrownThis book is a very taut suspense novel. This is another one where you can't figure out who commits the crimes. I first read this book in 1989 and mailed it to a friend of mine and then I read it again 11 years later. The first time I read this, I was up all night. I will not leave any hints on this, but it is a must read. This focuses on a certain woman who is losing people close to her because of the crazed killer. All I will say is that this killer is out for revenge on an innocent woman.

New Baby Calf
Published in Paperback by Scholastic (December, 1991)
Average review score:

fun and unique clay illustrations!!I've been reading this book since I was young and still immensely enjoy it, mostly because of the illustations. Edith Chase uses a different kind of medium for the pictures...clay! The blended colors and textures are eye-catching and witty...very appropiate for children of all ages.
The text is actually a rhyme written by a different author before the whole book came together. I'm pretty sure Edith Chase rewrote it, though. The rhythm of the words make them fun play for your voice.
The story itself is about a cute calf and his loving mother living on a farm. The calf nurses, eats, runs, plays, and grows...children can definitely relate to this book.

The New Public School Parent: How to Get the Best Education for Your Elementary School Child
Published in Paperback by Penguin USA (Paper) (30 July, 2002)
Average review score:

Love your school/ love your childIn high interest, easy to read style, Bob Chase shows you how schools think and work. You get an insider's view of school culture, and an understanding of all the myriad reasons why you, as a parent, don't always feel informed. Empowering and informative. He shows us all the ways we can love our children by embracing, understanding, and helping our child's public school. It needs a sequel, however, to more fully explain the role of the Board of Education, distinguish between PTA's, HSA's, and PTO's, the role of teacher unions, how the balance shifts between academic and vocational goals, the role of the federal department of education, and many more topics. A great start. I wish I'd had this book years ago, but it's never too late.

Fun Romp for Young ReadersMy daughter is just learning to read, so she can manage only the simplest text when reading a book herself. However, she still wants a good story that will hold her interest. "Nine Men Chase a Hen" was the perfect combination of silliness and simplicty for her to both manage the book on her own and to enjoy the aburd text and illustrations.

The Nutcase Chase

Sexual tension flares in this witty, but dangerous tale...I love the abruptness and blatant honesty of the spunky, feisty, gun-toting, lock-picking, heroine, Dale. Stan, the easy-going and charmingly sexy hero, is her perfect match! He is also one of the 'good old boys' type, and is both taken aback and undeniably intrigued by this small sexy gal full of fire. I do think the characters are too trusting of each other so early on in the story, but it flows well with the speed of the storyline. There is a great deal of sarcastic humor throughout the story that kept me snickering and both characters are cocky as hell! The secondary storyline of tracking a crazed serial killer who collects the nipples of his female victims is very strong and holds together well with the development of the two main characters. The sexual tension between the two rises quickly and I even got butterflies in my stomach! Dale is a tough girl on the outside, but a die-hard romantic on the inside, just crying out for Stan to force her into submission. But Stan is too soft and caring of a guy to push...will they ever get together? A very entertaining read with a guarantee of racing pulses and heavy breathing!

Average review score:

Read it! You'll love him. After reading this collection of classic Vermont humor and laughing 'til it hurt, I pursued the author and married him! We're both still laughing.
Read the book - the laughing part will work. The marriage part's been taken care of, however.

Ice CreamI bought the book for maybe one dollar at a used book sale in the North Lake mall. I read it alot and spilled chocolate ice cream on page eleven near the word 'cold'. It is a significant book in the life of my exciting poetry relationship. It is maybe 2nd best of these new years.
